Description

For more than three centuries, the Paris Opera has been at the heart of the history of music. Rameau, Gluck, Meyerbeer, Gounod, Verdi, Massenet, Wagner, Saint-Saëns, Fauré, Milhaud, Poulenc: the greatest lyric composers have worked there, have had their works created or have interpreted them themselves ... To do so, they relied on one of the best orchestras in the world and on a legendary troop of singers, representing a unique style. It is this artistic abundance that lives on here, from the beginning of the century, at the dawn of recording, until the 1960s.
