The Franco-Italian tenor Roberto Alagna and the Polish soprano Aleksandra Kurzak dedicate their first joint recording to the most moving Puccinian duos. It includes excerpts from Manon Lescaut, La Fille du Far-West, Madame Butterfly, Il tabarro and La Bohème, music full of passion and great feeling, brilliantly written for the voice and subtly orchestrated. The two singers are accompanied by the Warsaw Symphony Orchestra conducted by Riccardo Frizza.
Each of Puccini's operas has its own colour, as the excerpts on this album Puccini in Love show, and they all share a marvellous lyricism, for the Italian composer was a brilliant inventor of melodies. So his music is both powerful and refined, always a guarantee of great success with the public.
