Program of creations/ballets by Marion Motin, Xie Xin, Crystal Pite - Opéra Garnier from September 23 to October 12 2023

Three women choreographers take center stage in this contemporary dance program. Created in 2016 at the Opéra national de Paris, Crystal Pite's The Seasons' Canon is bathed in stormy light. The moving choreography in "canons" deploys chain reactions and echoing gestures. An organic swarming of human bodies mingles with Vivaldi's strings, magnified by Max Richter's electronics. In The Last Call, her first creation for the Ballet de l'Opéra, Marion Motin tells the story of a phone call that turns a man's life upside down. Between distortion and vitality, the choreography plunges spectators into a supernatural dimension. Finally, Chinese artist Xie Xin signs her first creation for the dancers of the Opéra national de Paris. Her piece Horizon plays on illusions and mirages between elements of nature.
