Part of Monum's Itineraires series (the equivalent of an English Heritage guide to a certain building), this well-illustrated guide consists of two parts. The first gives a general history of opera in Paris and the competition for the building of a new opera house that was won by Charles Garnier. Part two is a detailed tour of the building that can be used during your visit.
