Description
The percussion of New York minimalist Steve Reich provides a haunting rhythmic score for Drumming Live, a piece by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker created in 1998 by the Rosas Company and now performed by the dancers of the Opéra national de Paris. Like Rain, which entered the Ballet's repertoire in 2011, Drumming Live is one of the choreographer's most abstract and formally sophisticated works. Twelve dancers and nine percussionists, bathed in an orange fluorescence, are inhabited by a haunting pulse and a state of trance that seems to push the limits of space. Held in suspense for an entire hour, from a single musical motif, the spectator is caught in the spiral of a twirling dance and a dizzying journey.Product information
